About Us

Welcome to Blackrod Sports and Community Centre

We are a Charity that manages the Centre.  The Centre sits at the centre of the Blackrod village, and offers a fantastic resource and meeting space for residents both local and further afield. Excellent transport links mean it is easily accessible by bus, train and motorway, and there is a large car park.

The building boasts a large hall with full sized stage, kitchen, and a separate meeting room. There is a full sized football and sports pitch, currently home to Blackrod Town Football Club, Academy Juniors FC, Rivington Ladies Rounders Team, B&A Ladies Rounders and others.

There are a number regular sessions taking place in the daytime and evenings including Karate, Dance Mode Academy, Tai Chi, Morris Dancing, Art Club, Table Tennis, Walking Football, Walking, Tumble Tots, Yoga, Zumba, Chair based Zumba and Yoga, Pilates, Strength and Balance, Circuit Training, Over 50s Circuit Training, Personal Training and more.

We have a Women and Girls project that includes self defence and Body Blast sessions throughout the week.  All provided free of charge.

We have a Men and Children’s project funded but the Bolton Fund that has circuit training, table tennis, badminton and more throughout the week. All provided free of charge.
