About Blackrod Sports and Community Centre CIO
Blackrod Sports and Community Centre CIO was formed in November 2015, as a result of a public meeting to discuss the future of Blackrod Community Centre. The group formally registered as a charity (CIO) in 2017.
Our vision is to create welcoming and valued community facilities which give opportunity to all and add to the vitality of Blackrod and neighbouring communities.
Our aim is to develop, operate, manage, fundraise, maintain and promote the community facilities at Blackrod Sports and Community Centre to meet the needs of all sections of the community and to offer a range of activities and opportunities to all.
Immediately pursuant to the Government briefing on COVID containment, we are regretfully postponing all classes and bookings until further notice with the exception of NHS bloods Service and volunteer food drop off points.
Given the latest evidence of unpredictable transmission and vulnerability, we recognise our social responsibility in adhering to the national strategy of avoiding non-essential travel and interpersonal contact. We will be reviewing the daily updates and resolve to be providing these activities and all bookings as soon as is safely possible. We look forward to seeing you all safe and well then, and wish you good health in the hopefully -short meantime. With sincere best wishes,
The centre has many groups using the facilities throughout the week. Further details including times can be found on the Centre Timetable.
